We are a friendly welcoming church situated in the Aberdeenshire town of Huntly
Our Sunday morning service is held in the local community center, The Linden Centre, every Sunday morning from 10:30 am until around noon.
We have Sunday school for children aged 3-16 years and play space for parents with under 3s
We share communion on the first Sunday of each month, and a Fellowship Lunch on the third.
As you arrive you should see the flags and welcome signs to guide you to the door, where one of our team will welcome you and point you in the right direction.
Our church is a mix of people of all ages and backgrounds, dressed in all kinds of different ways. People sometimes worry about what they should wear to church. The answer is: clothes.
We have tea, proper coffee and pastries before the service.
The service usually starts with a warm welcome and some notices to let people know what’s happening in the service and the week ahead.
Then the person leading will pray to ask God for His help for the service, for the week ahead, for current events and to give thanks.
We sing together to praise to God for all his goodness to us. The words are projected onto the wall and people are free to join in, stand or just sit and listen to the words.
We have a children's talk or activity because our children are so important to us as a church family. After this the children and youth go out to their classes.
After a bit more singing, we read the Bible - because this is how we hear the voice of God today, and as Christians we believe that our lives should be governed by the Word of God.
Someone will then preach – basically they will explain what the bible passage we read means and how we can apply it to our lives. We believe that God transforms our lives a little bit at a time as we learn from and understand the bible together and do what it says.
Once a month, we share Communion as part of the service – this is for Christians, who share bread and wine (fruit juice) to remember Jesus’ death and resurrection and to look forward to when He will come again.
You won’t be singled out or asked to do anything embarrassing.
You won’t be asked for money – if anyone wants to give to God’s work through our church then there is a free will offering box.
You can expect to find friendly people and plenty of opportunities to get to know others, especially over tea or coffee before and after the service.
